International Latin technique will be taught to boys and girls. Dances of focus include: Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive/Swing. Dancers are not required to provide their own partner. Ages 6+.

Latin ballroom dress code: athletic or dance pants, t-shirt, and dress shoes or slick-bottomed athletic shoes for boys; skirt (with bikers/briefs), fitted top, and latin shoes for girls.

Competitive ballroom dancers must all have latin shoes - girls and boys.

Competitive Team Information


Middle School Competitive Ballroom Team
Tryouts: Monday September 17th 2:30 pm
We are so excited to be starting a competitive team for our middle school ballroom dancers this year! I want everyone who is interested to know the full details of what they are committing to so there are no surprises.
Timeframe: The team will run from now until the end of May. Dancers will not be adding/dropping in January.
Classes: All team dancers are committed to attendance of their Ballroom technique class AND the team rehearsals. This is 2 hr/week.
Tuition: Tuition for the team will be $15/month. *Remember that the maximum tuition is $105/month or $100/month if you are an additional child. If you are already at unlimited classes you will not need to pay any additional tuition. If you are already at 4 classes, then your tuition will increase by only $10.
Competitions: The team will be attending 4 competitions. All competitions are held on Saturdays there is 1 in each month of Feb, March, April, and May. Competition attendance is required. Each competition will cost approximately $15-$30 per dancer. These payments are made throughout the year prior to the competitions. Dancers will be given a calendar with the payment dates. We always attend a competition in St George at the end of March.  
Costume/Shoes: All dancers will be required to buy their own ballroom shoes. Shoes are $25. Dancers will also be required to pay a costume fee of up to $50. This fee may cover the purchase of a costume or rental of a costume. or a combination of the two – this is dependant upon what costume(s) we decide to use.
Please call/text/or email me with any questions you may have. We are wanting a minimum of 4 boys/8 girls for a team and a maximum of 8 boys/approx 12 girls, depending on interest. If we don’t have enough interest this year we will try again next year. Thanks! J
